Your babys Social Security could be at risk.

According to the BBB your new born could be at risk for ID theft. It seems that would be ID thiefs are now focusing more of their efforts on your new borns social security to take out loans under your baby's name.

Some things to do to safe guard is never record your baby or your social on your computer.  No matter how good your antivirus is there could be a chance a virus could get by and snatch your ss information.

Shred any information if your disposing in your recycle. This is a low tech way of getting your information.

Always have a good antivirus and a good firewall on your computer. Never surf without one.

As always stay safe on and off line.

Getting spam aps to your galaxy cell phone?

A friend of mine told me she was having random aps on her new phone appear from no where. These aps were from bringo to priceline. Im surprised that these applications are allowed in the andriod market in the first place.

Anyway I did find a solution online which is ab application called air push. Look it up on the android market.

what the application does is looks for programs that download onto your phone so essentially it sniffs out these programs for you

Getting Spam Text Messages? I got semi solution.

I over heard this on the radio and it seems that many phone providers are now asking people to forward any text messages to 7726. This number will be sent to your phone provider. I assume the providers will block those numbers.

Internet block out by malware.

A few days ago the FBI  had warned infected computers would be blocked from accessing the internet.

A virus or malware installed on unsuspecting computers still could hold a threat on your personal information.

If you feel your computer may be at risk here is the yahoo article I found today which has a few links on where to get help.

Yahoo article on malware

Just a note on the yahoo article it points you to a website which is a .org but it seems the site has been disable or something.

Good news is that there are a few links that do work which will determine if your DNS record has been changed by malware.

FBI website - what to look for if you feel your computer is infected.

Protect your computer tips

One of the most common things I have seen over and over with friends and family computers is the lack of security for their computer. What I mean by this is that most if not all people have some type of antivirus protection but they lack one thing I have seen. What I have seen what most people lack is a firewall for their computer.

A firewall essentially is the gatekeeper which checks to see what information is being sent or what information is coming into the computer. This meaning if a would be hacker finds your IP address they can gain access.

Get a firewall for you computer.

3124701783 scam

Do not answer this call its a health care insurance company which solicits to people who have not opted into thier phone list.

I figured I talked with a representative and told the guy that if you can please take me off your phone list. The guy simply told me that I called him which I never did. He got very upset and told me as if I was the one harassing him.

These type of practices are not valid since they must comply with state laws with phone solicitations. If a person does not want to be put on the do not call list and they don't comply you can sue them.
